UPDATE: Road reopening to one lane of traffic in each direction on Adelaide Avenue East in Oshawa

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising residents of lane restrictions on Adelaide Avenue East (Regional Road 58) in the City of Oshawa. The road will be reopening to one lane in each direction and will be maintained at all times unless impractical due to the nature of the work.

When: Effective immediately. Remaining restoration work is scheduled to be complete by October 1. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.

Where: Adelaide Avenue East, from Ritson Road North (Regional Road 16) to Wilson Road North (Regional Road 35), in the City of Oshawa. 

Why: To safely install a new watermain.

Note: The Region realizes that the construction work will be disruptive and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and work crews.

Road closure on Adelaide Avenue East in Oshawa

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham advises residents of the road closure of Adelaide Avenue East (Regional Road 58) in the City of Oshawa. 

When: May 11 until October 1, 2020.

Where: Adelaide Avenue East will be closed to through traffic from Ritson Road North (Regional Road 16) to Wilson Road North (Regional Road 35). 

Why: To safely install a new watermain.  

Note: Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and work crews. Please also be advised, in response to COVID-19 the Province of Ontario has identified the maintenance and repair of critical infrastructure including roads as an essential service, according to the latest update of essential workplaces from April 3.
