Road closure on Pickering Beach Road in the Town of Ajax

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising residents of a road closure on Pickering Beach Road in the Town of Ajax.

When: The closure is from May 23 until July. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.

Where: Pickering Beach Road (with residential access points), from Foord Road to Pickering Beach Road, in the Town of Ajax.

Why: The closure is required for the construction of a new watermain on Pickering Beach Road in Ajax.

Note: Detour signs will be in place. For the duration of the project, the road will only be opened for access to local residents and emergency vehicles. Residents will be notified in advance of any driveway restrictions. The Region realizes that the work may be disruptive and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and work crews.
