Road closures on Toronto Street, Rudell Road and Sunset Boulevard in Clarington

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department advises residents of road closures on Toronto Street, Rudell Road and Sunset Boulevard in the Municipality of Clarington.

When:

• Toronto Street will be closed from May 27 until the end of the year.
• Rudell Road and Sunset Boulevard will be closed intermittently for extended periods of time, allowing local traffic only.

Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.

Where:

• Toronto Street, from Milligan Street to just north of the CN Rail tracks, in Clarington.
• Rudell Road and Sunset Boulevard in Clarington.

Why: Road reconstruction, watermain installation, storm and sanitary sewer improvements and micro-tunnelling to upgrade the sanitary sewer collection and water distribution systems on the east side of Newcastle.

Note: The Region realizes that the work is disruptive, and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and the work crews.
