Sandford Road, Concession Road 6 closures in Uxbridge

Whitby, Ontario –

The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department would like to advise residents of upcoming road closures on Sandford Road (Regional Road 11) and Concession Road 6 in Uxbridge. Please note changes to the original dates due to poor weather conditions.

WHEN:

Closure one: Concession Road 6 will be closed north of Sandford Road on Dec. 19 for approximately one day.

Closure two: Concession Road 6 will be closed south of Sandford Road on Dec. 20 for approximately one day.

Closure three: Sandford Road, at the intersection of Main Street, will be closed for approximately two days beginning Dec. 21.

Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.

WHY:

To complete culvert replacements in preparation for the full rehabilitation of Sandford Road, starting in the spring of 2017.

NOTE:

The Region realizes that the work may be disruptive, and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and construction workers.
