Simcoe Street to close north of Rossland Road for construction
Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department would like to advise residents that construction work will close Simcoe Street (Regional Road 2) from north of Rossland Road to south of Robert Street in Oshawa.
When: Construction will begin the week of April 3 and the road closure will begin on April 10. Work is expected to last until mid-October. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.
Where: Simcoe Street, from north of Rossland Road to Robert Street, in the City of Oshawa. Detour routes will be posted in advance of the closure.
Why: This project includes watermain, sanitary sewer and storm sewer replacement; road reconstruction; sidewalk improvements; and traffic signal improvements.
Note: The Region realizes that the work may be disruptive and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and construction workers.
