Storm Update: Township of Brock Emergency - April 2, 2025
The Region of Durham is responding to damage from freezing rain and ice accumulation from recent storms.
Waste Management
The Region's Waste Management Facilities in Brock and Scugog are closed due to a power outage. For alternate locations, please visit durham.ca/WMF.
Residents who have fallen branches and trees on their property can prepare their brush for the seasonal leaf and yard waste collection. Bi-weekly seasonal leaf and yard waste collection started this week (March 31) in the Town of Ajax and Municipality of Clarington, and begins next week (April 7) for the City of Pickering, Township of Brock, Township of Uxbridge and Township of Scugog.
Brush must be securely tied in bundles up to one metre (four feet) long and 76 centimetres (30 inches) wide. No branch should be more than 10 centimetres (4 inches) in diameters.
Storm-related yard waste only will also be accepted temporarily at the Durham Waste Management Facility in Oshawa. The Waste Management Facilities in Brock and Scugog will also be accepting storm-related yard waste temporarily once they reopen. Standard fees will be waived for dedicated loads of storm-related yard waste until further notice.
