Traffic impacts due to Highway 401 and Brock Road closure in Pickering

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department would like to advise residents and road users that regional roads continue to be impacted by the tragic collision on Highway 401 at Brock Road last night that has left portions of the Highway 401 closed in the City of Pickering. 

Durham Region Transit (DRT) is experiencing delays in the Pickering Area. All routes in this area have been impacted by increased traffic. While we are managing these impacts, delays and some cancellations are expected to continue throughout the day.

The Region is asking residents to remain patient, expect increased traffic congestion in the area and reminds everyone to allow for extra travel time on Durham roads.

The Region would also like to thank all first responders and crews who have been integral in responding to this accident and ensuring safety for all residents.
