Upcoming lane restrictions on Winchester Road in the Town of Whitby

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising residents of upcoming lane restrictions on Winchester Road (Regional Road 3) in the Town of Whitby. 

Where: Winchester Road, from Durham Street/Chelmsford Drive to east of Watford Street/Anderson Street, in Whitby.

When: The contractor will re-mobilize April 7, 2025, with scheduled completion by late summer 2025. Unfavourable weather conditions may impact the work schedule.

Why: To safely rehabilitate and widen Winchester Road.

Note: Intermittent lane restrictions will be required on Winchester Road to facilitate the remaining construction. Traffic may be restricted to one westbound lane in spring. Further communications specific to this project will be issued in advance of any additional traffic restrictions. More details will be provided at durham.ca/WinchesterRoad.

Businesses will remain open for the duration of construction. The Region recognizes there may be potential impacts during the work.
