Upcoming road closure on Cochrane Street in Whitby

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising residents of an upcoming road closure on Cochrane Street in the Town of Whitby.

When: April 25 until December 2023. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.  

Where: Cochrane Street, between White Ash Drive and Bonacord Avenue/Vernon Street, over the Canadian Pacific Railway in Whitby.

Why: To safely replace a bridge.

Note: Traffic detours will direct traffic from Rossland Road to Dundas Street using Des Newman Boulevard. To learn more about the project, visit durham.ca/CochraneSt.

The Region realizes that the construction work will be disruptive and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Residents should expect traffic delays and are asked to exercise additional caution for everyone’s safety.
