Upcoming road construction on Simcoe Street South in Oshawa
Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is providing advance notice to residents and businesses of upcoming road construction on Simcoe Street South in the City of Oshawa that will require lane restrictions.
When: Construction is tentatively scheduled for summer 2023 to fall 2024. Unfavourable weather conditions may impact the work schedule.
Where: Simcoe Street South, from Olive Avenue to Metcalfe Street, in the City of Oshawa.
Why: To address aging and deteriorating infrastructure, the Region of Durham will be replacing watermains and sanitary sewers. This project also includes road rehabilitation and storm sewer replacement. Lane restrictions will be in place during the construction work.

The Region realizes that the work may be disruptive and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists, and work crews.
