Update: Brock Street South/Water Street in Whitby re-opens
Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department is advising residents that Brock Street South and Water Street in Whitby has been re-opened, but with a temporary weight restriction of five tonnes per axle. The street was closed as a precautionary measure during flooding.
When: Brock Street South/Water Street will re-open today.
Where: Brock Street South/Water Street (Regional Road 46), from Front Street to 350 metres south of the Brock Street bridge, in the Town of Whitby.
Note: Regional staff will continue to monitor Regional roads as long as the potential for flooding persists. Residents are asked to ensure storm sewer grates near their property are cleared of leaves and debris to help prevent flooding.
