Update: Wilson Road South in Oshawa to remain closed due to watermain break
Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department would like to advise residents and businesses that Wilson Road South will continue to be closed at the intersection of Bloor Street East, until next week.
When: Wilson Road South will be closed until approximately Wednesday, Feb. 22.
Where: Wilson Road South is closed at the intersection of Bloor Street East (around Highway 401).
Why: To repair a broken watermain and related damage to the road base and asphalt.
Note: Due to the watermain repair, some municipal water supply users in Oshawa may experience discoloured water and/or water pressure fluctuations. When the water services returns to normal, it is important for customers to turn on a cold water tap only and let it run for approximately five to 10 minutes to clean out any sediment that may have accumulated in your water service. This will avoid any sediment entering the hot water system.
The Region realizes that the work is disruptive, and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and the work crews.
