Was your garbage or recycling not collected?
Waste collection staff do their very best to pick up your materials. Remember, they do not pick up material that has not been properly set out or sorted.
To ensure your materials are collected, remember the following:
- Set out your items by 7 a.m. on your collection day. Collection crews start at 7 a.m. and their routes may change without notice, so you may not have the same collection time every week.
- Stay within the weight limit of 20 kilograms (44 pounds) for each blue box, green bin, garbage bag, and yard waste item.
- No more than four garbage bags set out. Any garbage bag/can over the four-bag limit must have a bag tag affixed to them. In the case of garbage cans, the tag must be visibly affixed to the waste inside the can.
- Use approved collection containers. No oversized cans, bags or carts will be collected.
- Use only 100 per cent compostable liner bags in your green bin.
- Cut, flatten and tie cardboard boxes. Cardboard bundles should not be larger than the size of your blue box.
- Ensure your items are visible and accessible. Please do not place items behind parked cars, light posts or snowbanks.
