Waste collection schedule changes in Oshawa and Whitby due to the holiday long weekend
Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham would like to remind Oshawa and Whitby residents of changes to the scheduled curbside waste and recycling collection due to the Victoria Day holiday on Monday, May 20.
When: Monday, May 20 to Saturday, May 25.
Where: For residents in Oshawa and Whitby, there will be no curbside waste (garbage, green bin and blue box) collection on Monday, May 20. Waste collection during the week of May 20 will occur one day later than your regularly scheduled collection day due to the Victoria Day (May 20) holiday. This means that collection scheduled for Monday, May 20 will be moved to Tuesday, May 21. This shift will continue throughout the week, ending with Friday, May 24 collection being moved to Saturday, May 25.
Garbage and green bin collection services for Oshawa and Whitby residents is provided by their respective municipalities.
Residents of the Town of Whitby can download the Whitby Waste Buddy App or access their calendars through whitby.ca/waste. Residents of the City of Oshawa can download the Durham Region Waste App or access their calendars through oshawa.ca/waste. The Durham Region Waste App and Whitby Waste Buddy App provide residents with customized collection schedules, reminders about collection days, the Know Before You Throw search tool and service alerts.
