Water pressure fluctuations in areas of Pickering
Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department would like to inform residents that an emergency valve repair will cause municipal water supply fluctuations for residents in the vicinity of Liverpool Road (north of the hydro corridor) in Pickering.
When: Effective immediately. Work to repair the watermain is estimated to be completed by 6 p.m. Work will begin again tomorrow, so residents may experience water supply fluctuations tomorrow (July 7) as well.
Where: The following streets are affected in the City of Pickering: Cedarwood Court, Halsey Lane, Madonna Court, Rigby Drive, Abbey Road, and Liverpool Road north of the hydro corridor.
Why: To make repairs to the municipal water supply system.
Note: When the repair is complete and water pressure returns to normal, it is important for customers to turn on a cold water tap only and let it run for approximately five to 10 minutes to clean out any sediment that may have accumulated in your water service. This will avoid any sediment entering the hot water system.
