Water service interruption near Church Street and Harrisview Street in Ajax

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham advises residents of water service interruption near Church Street (Regional Road 24) in the Town of Ajax.

When: Ongoing until repairs are complete.

Where: On the east side of Church Street, at the intersection of Harrisview Street.

Why: To repair a broken watermain.

Note: Residents and businesses in the immediate area may experience a water service interruption or decrease in water pressure during the repair. When the water service returns to normal, it is important for customers to turn on a cold water tap only and let it run for approximately five to 10 minutes to clean out any sediment that may have accumulated in your water service. This will avoid any sediment entering the hot water system.

The Region realizes that the work is disruptive and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and the work crews.
