Watermain break causes lane restrictions on Simcoe Street North in Oshawa

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham advises residents of lane restrictions on Simcoe Street North (Regional Road 2) in the City of Oshawa due to a watermain break. No residential or commercial properties are affected.

When: Lane restrictions are expected to be in place until the evening of Monday, May 25. Please note that unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.

Where: Simcoe Street North, between Byng Avenue and Tecumseh Avenue, in Oshawa.

Why: To repair a broken watermain.

Note: Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and the work crews. Please also be advised, in response to COVID-19 the Province of Ontario has identified the maintenance and repair of critical infrastructure including roads as an essential service, according to the latest update of essential workplaces.
