Watermain break on Nonquon Road in Oshawa

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department advises residents that a section of Nonquon Road has been reduced to one lane due to a watermain break.

When: Repair work is ongoing.

Where: Nonquon Road, between Mary Street and Pentland Street, in the City of Oshawa.

Why: To allow equipment access to repair a broken watermain.

Note: Residents in the area may experience a temporary water service interruption or decrease in water pressure for the duration of the repair. When the water service returns to normal, it is important for customers to turn on a cold water tap only and let it run for approximately five to 10 minutes to clean out any sediment that may have accumulated in your water service. This will avoid any sediment entering the hot water system.

The Region realizes that the work is disruptive, and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and the work crews.
