Watermain construction on Rossland Road West in Ajax

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department will be constructing a new watermain on Rossland Road West, from east of Church Street to Westney Road North, in the Town of Ajax. Lane restrictions and weekend road closures will be required to complete the project safely and efficiently.

When: Work is scheduled to begin this week and will be complete in spring 2020. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.

Where: Rossland Road West, Ravenscroft Road and Pearce Drive may be closed temporarily on weekends (Friday at 9 p.m. to Sunday at 7 p.m.). Lane restrictions on Rossland Road West will be in place for the duration of the project.

Why: To install a new watermain.

Note: The Region realizes that the work is disruptive and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and the work crews.
