Winchester Road in Brooklin scheduled to reopen for winter
Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is pleased to announce that Winchester Road (Regional Road 3) will temporarily reopen for the winter season, providing residents with smoother travel.
Where: Winchester Road will be reopened, from Durham Street/Chelmsford Drive to east of Watford Street/Anderson Street, in Brooklin.
When: The road is scheduled to temporarily reopen by the evening of November 29. Please note, minor lane restrictions will continue until mid-December 2024 for the safety of our work crews.
The full eastbound lane closure will be in effect again in April 2025 until September 2025. More details will be provided in advance.
Why: The road work is part of the project to widen and rehabilitate Winchester Road.

The Region realizes that the work may be disruptive and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and work crews.
