Your opinion counts: share your input on affordable rental and seniors' housing

Whitby, Ontario – Members of the public are invited to offer their ideas and suggestions on how to increase the supply of affordable rental housing and seniors’ housing options in Durham Region.

When: The survey will be available until August 1.

Where: Residents are encouraged to have their say by completing the survey on the Region of Durham’s Affordable and Seniors’ Housing Task Force web page at durham.ca/HousingTaskForce.

Why: Affordable, accessible and suitable housing is essential for healthy communities, and strong and vibrant neighbourhoods.

Durham Regional Council established an Affordable and Seniors’ Housing Task Force to review information related to the region’s current rental housing supply, consider the input of industry experts, facilitate public information sharing, and explore best practices being used by other municipalities and organizations.

Feedback from residents, as well as input from other levels of government, financial and housing development industries, and other businesses, agencies and institutions with an interest in the housing needs of Durham residents, will be considered in the Task Force’s report back to Regional Council in fall 2017.
